If I had to describe Delilah Dirk and the Turkish Lieutenant in one word, it would be FUN. This book was, simply put, really damn fun to read. The storyline was interesting, the characters were likable, and the adventures were…well…adventurous. Truth be told, it made me want to do a little traveling, but that’s beside the point. Cliff’s characters are the kind of characters you wish you could be friends with, and his illustrations (yes, he illustrated it, too!) are beautiful. Vibrant colors, realistic facial expressions, creative use of framing and colors, and truly pleasurable to view. You probably already know what I’m going to say, so I’ll just go ahead and put it out there: read Delilah Dirk. Just do it. Seriously.
